Have you ever heard of a place called the Homestead in Glen Arbor?  We're looking for a place to stay with some friends. Late July.

Uh, to make this semi garage related here's a pic of the turbo I pulled out of the car tonight...

Yes I have heard of the homestead, wife 1.0's parents went there a few times.
It was what I considered high dollar back then when most of my income was disposable.

glen arbor is very beautiful.

my guess is that the homestead is still a spectacular destination. I have only driven by it.
Assuming you are driving from ohio, you will be traveling very close to mi casa, you are welcome to stop by going or coming.

basically anywhere on the leawinaw peninsula is going to be beautiful. the whole north west tip of lower Michigan is beautiful and the more tourist areas are going to be nice.

Well,  we're getting ready to head north this Sat.

Homestead was too expensive, so we're heading up I-75 to Shanty Creek in Bellaire.

If that's close, would love to meet up!  We'll be there all week.

hey I finally remembered my password.

It looks like our timing is going to be totally FUBAR! I am leaving about 3:00 AM Friday morning to head to Geneva new York for wagonfest on Saturday then on a week vacation that was going to take us thru the hilly area in southern ohio around Chillicothe.
that may or may not happen (ohio) but most likely we wont be back to Michigan till Sunday the 2nd of August.

crappy thing is I am exactly 10 miles off I-75 a straight shot west. it would have been an easy stop either up or down.

This is sad because it would be awesome to meet up.

If it looks like we might get home Saturday the 1st I will post up and PM you.

That stinks!  8)

Funny part is that Chillocothe would put you within ~75 miles of my place in Cincinnati!

FWIW I will most likely be trucking thru Cincinnati Sunday afternoon.

hope your trip went well!  We had a great time in Bellaire.  Beautiful weather, kids had a lot of fun at the beach.  Shanty Creek is a nice resort and we'll be going back
