In retrospect I could feel the ply's start to go. I had a blowout/tread separation on the 77 LeSabre I bought while I was driving it home the day I purchased it. it felt the same way before it let go too.

I am really worried about the tires on my jeep due to age and I am now even more paranoid.

Yup -- tire belt and ply compounds tend to separate after a few years; especially if they they sat in the same compressed position during storage. Happens quite frequently -- good luck with the fix.

so for $164 I could have avoided all the hassle and the still slightly dinged up fender on the car. 2 new p235-75/15 tires are now on the front of the wagon and she was silky smooth up to triple digits.

Thanks to a ton of help from my BFF I now have new stainless brake lines, a new steering stabilizer, and I finally modified my steering arm by sleeving it with some schedule 80 pipe and plug welding it.
my jeep is safe to drive again.

Unfortunately my buddy had to leave and we got to spend far too little time together

For the past few years my wife has been giving me the most awesome fathers day gift. she spends all day in my shop helping me clean it!!! :2thumbsup:

well it has morphed in to the weekend and for my birthday as well. this year I did a fair amount of prep work before hand but I have been balls to the wall working on it since about 4:00 on Friday.

so here are the before and after pics.

I didn't get as far as I wanted but we still made outstanding progress.

these are the after pics: amazing what paint will do to the walls.

the big thing is all the file cabinets, and kitchen base cabinets and counter tops were not there Friday.

so a few years back I bought a 12" Rockwell table saw for uber cheap. it had a crappy cord on it. it still worked and I hate to admit I used it occasionally. finally I got around to putting a new cord on it. I also put a push button switch. the old cord is looped up for comparison. I also fixed the mounting for the motor and moved some pulleys for better alignment.
