Brass Screwdrivers in "standard" sizes?
« on: June 04, 2012, 05:14:31 PM »
Wow- I've been absent a looong time, apparently! Forum has whole different look, etc. Didn't think I had been absorbed in work that long...

Anyways, sorry if there is a thread here somewhere that I have missed, but does anyone know of any tool supplier/manufacturer still making brass screwdrivers in "standard" sizes? I'm after #1, #2, etc. slotted and philips, not the precision sizes... have those. Years ago, I recall having three or four larger sizes in brass with molded (black?) plastic handles (maybe they were rubber outer grips...?). Anyways, can't find them, need them, and doing a somewhat adequate Google search doesn't turn up any available for sale new anywhere.... !?!?!

Any ideas, or anyone have some they want to find a new home for?

Thanks,
Neal.

Hey welcome back. I haven't seen any of them for years. They used to be big in areas where strong magnetic fields were present. With the manufacturing going overseas they seem to have disappeared.
