Firefighting Bikes!
« on: July 24, 2010, 08:54:22 PM »

British firefighters are testing out BMW bikes fitted with water tanks and a high-pressure nozzle as a cheaper and quicker alternative to fighting small fires not requiring life-saving equipment.

The idea has been around for a while.

I guess the success would depend on the accuracy of the person reporting the fire. I understand the economic considerations but if it were my stuff I'd like to see a whole battalion arriving.

Cool! And yes, firefighting motorcycles have been around a long time, it is just that modern firefighters here in the States have lost sight of the efficiency they might offer in low risk situations.
