Ryobi P113 Battery Charger Recall --
« on: December 12, 2013, 02:09:31 PM »
This is an important recall. Apparently the early versions of this charger have a likelihood of causing a fire, so Ryobi is doing a nationwide recall. I just sent mine out this morning.

There are several versions of the P113 charger

The affected units are identified in this recall notice --

IMPORTANT: Also to note is that if any of you have rebuilt your Ryobi battery packs with higher mAh batteries (like I have), then this is especially important since the higher amperage batteries will put more stress on the charging circuits in these chargers.

It's fairly easy to warrant -- just call 1-800-597-9624; give them some basic info, and Ryobi will send you a pre-paid FedEx packing slip. Once Ryobi receives the unit, they will effect replacement within 10 days.

Good luck, and don't procrastinate on this one.
