a few rules for a civilized society
« on: September 17, 2009, 10:29:24 AM »
rule one. profanity is highly discouraged. if you need to talk s--t, just clean it up a little like that. i  am no prude and can cuss like a sailor also, but do we need to? i don't like  the f-bomb thrown at me and i doubt if anyone else. respect goes a long ways.  rule two.  no nudity pics or porn. genitals or breasts are not needed here. if you can see something you should not it is gone. plenty of other places to see that. that said, i love girly pics. if you like curvy, skinny, tall, short, old, guys, girls, whatever, i don't care. just keep them clean. rule three, the use of the word porn should be highly discouraged. i know i already used it in a thread name but i should not have. it sends the wrong kind of message. as mods we need to speak up and set some limits like that. we all have to have some rules and that one will keep a lot of things from going the wrong way. rule four is for mods. no one shall be banned until 3 warnings are given. if you cannot figure it out by then. good bye. rule five. if at all possible, only posts shall be deleted with a reason for deletion.  please comment on these suggestion.

1. The F word is software blocked. We all know it and no we don't want to have sex with you so don't use it.

2. While I have no problems with "Cheesecake" pictures. It seems that people like to push the limits.

3. I agree it is used way too much on several boards I've visited. The spam bots search for it. I hate spam.

4. The system is currently set up to give up to 20 points per day warning per mod. Sixty points and you are automatically muted. If you are warned you will be able to see the points you have as will the mods. At 10 points you are on a watch list.

OK now I hope no one makes us apply any of the things in number four.

2. Posting material in violation of copyright law is forbidden.
3. No pissing matches are allowed . Once a discussion has deteriorated to such a state , it will be closed .
4. Posting or transmitting commercial or bulk email through use of this forum will result in permanent ban from the forum.
5. Advertising any product or service you are pushing is not allowed unless authorized by the owner .
6. Since there are millions of sites on the net for nudity , porn , hate speech , or obscenity , please don't post it here .
7. Attempts at fraud in buying , selling , or trading are forbidden . This means any attempt at defrauding a member or visitor .
8. For sale posts should always have a price or prices stated , as well as location of said item . Bids or auctions are not allowed , you should know the price you want to sell for before listing , or the price you might be willing to pay for an item you are seeking .
9. If a seller or buyer's price is not to your liking , ignore it .

Nice set there Papaw. Very concise.

I really like numbers 8 and nine.

My personal number one rule is Spam equals ban. No appeal no questions. I hate Spam.
